Celebrity Exposure Leads To Teeth Whitening Boom

Since the turn of the century, there has been a huge increase in the amount of cosmetic enhancements that every day people are carrying out, in particular, with dental aesthetics and teeth whitening. It is little wonder when you consider the amount of publications that print pictures of stars looking stunning in all aspects, most often you notice their teeth and aspire for similar.

It comes as no surprise to a celebrity that have cosmetic dental treatments such as tooth whitening will greatly enhance their smile, their appearance and subsequently their popularity. As such, such cosmetic procedures were generally only adopted and available to the rich and famous - to the point that if it was known a celebrity had undergone treatment, their before and after shots were all over the glossy magazines. These days though, they are much more widely available.

Dentists soon realised the potential of making cosmetic dental procedures available to the regular public. They have made the prices competitive and virtually every dentist who offers tooth whitening as a service will offer massive discounts on various days of the week. This has seen the growth in people taking up the treatment spiral, in turn, their peers see the results and want the same - and so the growth continues.

The growth in uptake on cosmetic dental treatments has also been due to the time it now takes to receive the treatment and see the results. Previously, you would more than certainly have had to make more than one trip to the dentist, which itself was one reason for why it was so expensive. These days it’s quick and easy - you can have laser surgery carried out at your dentist in just one hour, or buy home whitening kits where you apply the strips when you are sleeping.

When you consider everything that has been mentioned it is little wonder tooth whitening treatments have taken off. Increased celebrity exposure in daily life, cheaper treatments and reduced turnaround times means the public will be adopting cosmetic dentistry for years to come.
